Okay...

Okay, animation keyframes in...say, two weeks?

And those of you that don't have your storyboards (Jess and I), will have them done by the end of this week. OK? OK. Even if they're going to be lousy thumbnail storyboards. *SIGH*

Yeah, but animation keyframes.

Story Time

EDIT: Holy crap, this shit uploaded small. Sorry, if for some reason you want a bigger version, I can email it to you.

I finally managed to draw some quick-and-dirty storyboards, a mere twenty minutes before the deadline. They're not as cool as Isam's, but they get the job done.

Quick description because I didn't write on the boards themselves: the old man walks through his home (camera pans west), and he sees the book. After looking to see if there's anyone around to disturb him, he grins toothlessly to the audience and runs to an armchair with the novel (the running is not shown because I got a little stuck with how I wanted to compose the shot, but I'll figure it out soon). Cut to a close shot of the old man clutching the book in his trembling hands, and just as he is about to read, a hand claps his shoulder. Camera pans north to reveal Death standing over the old man. Death indicates it's time to go, and the old man weakly protests. Death considers, then says no. The old man hangs his head in disappoinment. That may or may not be the end, I don't want to over extend myself because I'm easily discouraged.

Story Time!!!!

Ok all you fellow fakeheaders....it's time for you to tell me your stories. If you guys wouldn't mind, I would appreciate if you could post maybe like a short synopsis (not storyboards...just a typed synopsis) of how your story goes as of now. I know I haven't been much help to you guys as far as this whole collaboration goes, and for that I apologize. I feel so far away. ::sniff:: Anyways...so...yea....if you guys wouldn't mind doing that for me it would be greatly appreciated. Since I am not there to talk amongst you guys I am kinda behind in this whole thing and I just wanna understand how the story plays itself out so far. okay? Thanks so much. Love ya! Yea.... you too David. ^.^

Screen Names

I'm posting everyones screen names, because I seem to be the only person with EVERYONE's screen names. And I can't guaruntee that I'll be on time tomorrow because I didn't come home from work until 8:00PM today. Then I had to eat dinner and clean up and stuff. Hopefully Pat won't give me too much work tomorrow, but I kinda doubt it.

So yar. Hopefully I'll be online on time, but if not:

Me: i avoid work
Kat: killertherabbit
Jess: snowsugar406
Maya: balognaDNA
Isam: satinadocremoso

Sketches from Tuesday and logo

okay so here are some of the sketches I did on our meeting for Tuesday and a logo proposition for fake heads, please post your own proposition whenever you have time, I was just playing around with illustrator so I happen to have mine already.

The Story as I Know It

This post is mainly for Jessica's benefit, but feel free to read it and remind yourself how this story is going down. Or at least how I think this story is going down.

Each animator gets one scene in the life of this pathetic individual. The recurring theme/gag for all the scenes is the character (male with emo glasses) keeps trying to read this book throughout his life, but is interrupted. The transitions between the scenes all correspond somehow (i.e. a screaming mouth at the end of Maya's scene becomes a dark hallway in the beginning of Isam's scene). Jess, because your scene comes after Jen's and before mine, it is important that you communicate with us both (preferably by blog) so that we can coordinate our transitions.

Isam, please post the character sketches you drew at our meeting last Tuesday to help Jess decide how she will design the adult version.

Homework Assignment

Homework Assignment Due Tuesday, June 20th, no later than 8pm

1) Draw final storyboards. You should know approximately how many shots your scene will have, and the layout for each should be more or less fleshed out. Post them on the blog when you're done.
2) Finalize your character design(s).
3) Don't forget we're all chatting via internet on Tuesday (8pm) to discuss boards and miscellaneous shit we may think of.

Jess: there was some rearranging in the last meeting, so now you've been assigned to adulthood. If you desperately wanted to do the character's teenage years, you can work it out with Jen.

Just to make things clear.

OK. NOW. EVERYONE IS SET, OMFG.

Maya has birth/infant birth
Isam has childhood
Me has adulthood
Kat has oldperson/death

Jess you can have teenageness...or like...I have no idea.

whew

all right, it's taken me a good half hour to try to figure out how to get the actual animation to show up on our page, but it's a no-go. So just click on the pic. I think that should work.

a call to arms

Alright, my fellow fake heads, listen up: a small faction of us have arbitrarily decided the theme for the main character's "mind trip" will be STAGES OF HIS LIFE. Maya has birth, Isam won childhood, Jen settled for adulthood, and I snatched up death before there could be any argument.

JESSICA, CANDICE, what's the word? Are you interested in participating in this project? If so, you can choose any life stage in between (i.e. adolescence, early vs late adulthood). And if you're feeling discouraged because you can't make it to the meetings, please don't be. We have ways of filling you in and giving you an equal share in the decision making - you just have to really want to do it. The more the merrier, right gang?

Assignments for all those meeting at the library on Tuesday:
1) Storyboards for individual scenes (keep it simple)
2) Character designs (doesn't have to be anything solid, vague ideas are a-okay)

Wee

I dunno, does this count as a collab?

My arm, Isam's design? XO

Character design

This is my image of the guy, more or less. I'm assuming nobody's got storyboards done because nothing's been posted, so maybe Isam had the right idea with creating a theme for the different worlds inside the guy's head. He suggested fears, I was thinking maybe stages in the guy's life, anybody else got one? There are no stupid ideas, say whatever comes to mind.
