Ygdrasil Part: Uno

hey guys i just put this together. I want to do this in inks, but this has the general feel of the story. Anyways wanted to get your guys inputs.

Back cover...? maybe? Is it bad that it's too different from the front? I tried to keep it simple, so as not to take away from the cover. :O

fakeheads ad

This is ad sketch #1. What do you think?

My biggest fix besides cleanup is more perspective on the letters, sorta coming more rightward too, for a better layout.

The un-drawn hand will get its liney-poos, I just stuck it in there for placement. And I'm putting in a rough black border.

Also, the copy: "Coming This Fall..." – That gives us until December 21st. The website will be on there too, probably following Fake Heads. To www. or not to www.?

Late Addition

I am sorry to say I will not make the May 24th deadline. The reality is that my idea came together just a few days ago. I still intend to finish the comic, and hopefully there will be a part 2 I can add it to.

hey guys. here's how i had imagined the typeface would look. personally i like isam's more, but i still feel like adding to the group creative process.

btw this is way rougher than i'd do in the long run, but i'd still try to keep a lot of hand-drawn imperfections in it.

Apples & Oranges

I changed my idea but its still about food. A family of Apples live next to a family of Oranges. A tree is in the Oranges' lawn but drops its fruit on to the Apples' lawn. After Mrs. Apple bakes a pie with the fruit, Mr. Orange and Mr. Apple get into a big fight over who the fruit belongs to.

Kat's First Layout

Seeing everyone else post made me feel like I had to get my ass in gear, so I made this! I think the first and second panels need to either be fixed or entirely redone, but the other two are okay. What do you guys think?

And that is definitely not the actual typeface I'm using for the title.

Finally Here's the bread troll

not much in way of story, basically a gnome reflects as he wanders in a deserted loaf of bread.

my comic is gonna be only 3 pages long, i dont think i can milk this for much more really. so perhaps for the preview i can have just this page and a splash page, any objections?

ps. someone already pointed out a typo, i'll fix that later.

I'm working!

It's not much, but I'm excited to do the rest now that I've got a first panel. The character finds a nut (machine nut from a bolt) on the ground and thinks for a few panels what it could have been from and puts it down. that is all. I think I'm just going to stick with drawing something rather than cut it out because I don't do much drawing.

This one looks legible enough to me.

Sorry about the clarity of the photos, I don't have a great setup for photographing them right now.
Anyway, I have just one page left to draw and then I ink, and then I'm done. Are we adding gray tones to this or not, did we decide? I could still do that, too.

This is what I meant by plushie head octopus on the girl's head... so, she's wearing something like this instead of her helmet. Obviously, you draw it so it's way more plushier/octopus-ier/better drawn. I rotated it so yall don't have to rotate your head 180.

ps. I liked what Isam said about the octopus fighting a "fake head"! yay for collaboration!

Its new! Its rad! hey guys thought I would just throw this into the mix and see what you thought. I couldn't really be bothered with figuring out where to put the title and what not, so i figured i'd let you guys tear it up, or not and move on to something better. Preview Cover Ideas

These are a couple of my thoughts on the Preview Version's cover. The first one is based on Isam's idea - maybe less sexy and more "fake heads"?

Regarding the Preview Cover: It would be awesome if everyone could post a thumbnail or two. We are a big group, we have the opportunity to make this a collaborative piece. For example, one person can thumbnail a design, and someone else can do the finished illustration. Or we could combine multiple ideas into one (like I tried with Isam's), and choose someone to execute it.

Let's have a brainstorming session via blog! Everyone post something.

FACELESS FRITZ

hey gang,
i just wrote the story down and went to take a shower, but you know how you get really good ideas when you're showering? i came back and took it all out for now.

just know that its a combination of podcast about face transplants i listened to today, the last american virgin, and serial killers.

i'll post the story as soon as i get it all in order, trust me there IS a story.

ps. i know it says fitz that was the first name i came up with but now its fritz.

FAKE HEADS PREVIEW COVER

ey team. heres an sketch of an idea for the preview edition's cover. i am officially opening the flood gates for other ideas and submitions,

my reasoning with this is that sex sells and we want as many pervs to pick this up and get exited about it(not "that" exited)

the text is temporal, i think we could have some rad hand drawn text on there, anyone here experienced with type?
